Local Player Forms New Trio, Future Looks Promising by Gus Longhaul

Jacksonville is home to a number of famous musical acts that due to legal issues cannot be mentioned in this article. But local guitarist Peter Bilt is making a dream of his come true by forming a new trio by the name of OVERSIZED LOAD. As a former member of various local bands, Pete's been transporting a variety of music for many years and plans to do it for many to come. As he would say, he's in it for the long haul. Pete has a style of his own which we refer to as "Loaded", but Clapton, Blackmore and Vaughan; Stevie & Jimmy, are just a few of his influences. He's quite the showman. more

"This isn't just a band", states Bilt, "This is something bigger than just three guys playing cover tunes, it's larger, it's OVERSIZED!" And many would agree. Music Critic, Huge Johnson of Modern Day Trucker Magazine has seen "The Load" as they are referred as says, "These guys are good." "They put a different spin on the music and make it their own." "Hotter than a burning sensation that you get from having relations with a lot lizard in the truck stop parking lot!"

Morty Johanson, truck driver for the Dipsy Deli Meat Transportation Company was awarded the Biggest Meat Award for his years of providing quality service. When asked what his plans were for his award he stated, "Due to inadequacies in the love department and a personality equal to bologna, I'm sure that my wife will be well satisfied when I'm on the road.

Ken Worth is rather new on the scene. It wasn't until a few years ago that the notion to become a musician became a reality. He's become quite an accomplished player in the few years that he's been at it. Because of  his love of music and determination, he was asked to become a member of the up and coming local band, OVERSIZED LOAD. Also know as "The Set Meister", Ken puts together some of the finest sets of music for any venue. He keeps the flow rockin! He considers Floyd of the Muppets and Quickdraw McGraw's alter ego, "El Kabong" as his principal musical influences. more

Trucks Signs On With "The Load" Sun Records Threatens Legal Action... DOT Says "GET IN LINE!" by Lonnie Cox

Mack Trucks, in no relation to any famous people with the same last name, decided that he was ready to leave his position as head studio drummer for Sun Records and return to Jacksonville Florida at the request of long time friend and musician, Peter Bilt. "Yeah, Pete called me up and said his was putting together a new project and said I'd be a perfect fit." says Trucks. Trucks, like Bilt has been around the Jacksonville music scene for many years. He's played just about every style of music but draws the line at country, at least on a full time basis. Not a flashy player, but is committed to keeping the beat steady. Oh, and is partial to wardrobe changes. more

"Yeah, I've got a thing for Cher" says Trucks. "Not in a gay kinda way, but rather the flare for the costume changes and the crowd seems to get a kick out of it."
